Tears From My Heart

CD1 Tears From My Heart

In 2001, T. Albert recorded his first CD of original songs titled Tears From My Heart. Karl Bremer, blues reviewer from Twin Cities Blues News wrote, Harpman Curtis Blake was tapped for the session and guest organist John Steffel wound up in the mix as well.

The vocals lend a soulful edge to T. Albert Lloyd's sinewy leads, with steady, in-the-pocket backing provided by the Greg Gaston-Keith Thunem rhythm section. Curtis Blake added a heavier blues influence to the mix on T. Albert Lloyd's first record, sharing the spotlight with Lloyd on shuffles and straight-up rockers alike.

All but one song on the first record are originals; a Sonny Boy Williamson cover is the lone exception.

Lloyd's rig is simple with a precise, piercing tone that sneaks up on you. Theres a hint of the old school there with a new buzz added. He'd feel right at home in Indigenous. Churning along in a nice groove, all of a sudden it grabs your ears and turns your head with one of those Hey, now that was cool licks.

CD2 T. Albert Lloyd and the Kingpins, #2

In 2003, T. Albert Lloyd had penned another CD. Recording with the same rhythm section from The “Tears From My Heart” sessions, the CD was recorded in two days.

Bremer says, By the second release, recorded in a St. Paul warehouse in 2003, T. Albert Lloyd's guitar has matured and he takes the front position unassisted. This is a hard charging band with the throttle wide open, but theres still plenty of blues in the tank. Lloyd provides the ignition spark.

CD3 What Is Right

T. Albert Lloyd's 3rd What Is Right CD gelled from the title cut story line. The title cut, What Is Right, reflects a struggle of standing up for family against your perceived religious values.

This CD reflects T. Alberts aggressive guitar playing stylistically from hard Texas blues to East Coast blues-soul-Funk. This is also the first CD with T. Albert singing.

CD4 2006 Fargo Blues Festival Live CD
